Welcome to Folk Art Flags

Folk artist Chuck Gardner creates these beautiful hand painted Folk Art Flags from wood reclaimed from old barns. He then uses his secret technique to "age" the flags into beautiful pieces of original art.

I am starting to make some real progress breaking into the Atlanta art market, which is the closest large city to me.  My 50 star flags sold out at the Trinity School's Spotlight on Art event this year, and I am looking forward to next years show.  At a recent benifit auction in Atlanta, one of my large flags sold for over $1,000 in a bidding war!   I am on the hunt for a larger studio as I write this, and will get a picture up when it comes my way.  I am closing in on flag #300!

A while back,  I appeared on the show Pawn Stars on the History Channel.  The name of the episode is " Over the Top" and it originally aired on June 13, 2011.  I am 4 minutes in, and am selling a vintage Zepplin toy to Rick and The Old Man.  If you are an agent looking for some fresh talent, you can leave a message for Chuck "Hollywood" Gardner here. Tivo it, or find it on the History channel website, but you will have to pay $1.99 for the episode.

Another development :  Nathan Deal, the governor of Georgia, now has a flag in his office at the state capitol!  Here he is with his flag.

When you are in Rabun County, stop in at the Main Street Gallery for a look at my flags. They are right in the center of town across from the Clayton Cafe.  I am also excited about recently hanging a large (60lb.) flag at the Lake Rabun Hotel on beautiful Lake Rabun. Stop in for dinner and you can't miss it from the outdoor deck.  You can also find them in the Ann Jacob Gallery in Highlands North Carolina.

If you live in Atlanta you can find my flags at two locations.  Kudzu Antique and Vintage Home Store is one.  http://www.kudzuantiques.com/ They have everything you could ever want, as far as vintage collectables for your home.  Find them at 2928 East Ponce De Leon Avenue in Decatur.  George and Kate are the BEST, and will help you find whatever you might want.  Brooke, at the Re-Inspiration Store is the other location in Atlanta. http://www.reinspirationstore.com/  Find her in the "Big City" at 591 North Highlands Av. in Atlanta.  What a fantastic neighborhood to take a walk and spend some time in.  Brooke has all sorts of things made of recycled materials that make great gifts.  Stop in and see her.
